I’m going to have a bash at defining Paul Weller. He was a working-class, angst-ridden, socially conscious mod punk, who looked like a mod but channelled politically motivated punk energy, with his mix of rock, soul, jazz, folk… I’m just naming genres now. Summary: he was good.
